Bad Job Interview? There Are 3 Things You Can Do!

Just got back from a bad job interview? Nothing went right. The interviewer was out to get you from the start? That's the worst feeling. You work so hard. Sending out hundreds of resumes. Then you finally get that call.
You're so excited! They say come down tomorrow. We really want to meet you. So you get a good night's sleep; get up early to make sure you're not late. Then you blow it! You bomb big time!Is there anything you can do about it? Of course, here are 3 things you should do right away.
#1 Send a thank you note as soon as you can:
Hopefully you got your interviewer's contact information. You should always ask for his card so you can follow up. If not, just call the company and ask.
Think hard about what was said in the interview. If you made a good point, you may want to elaborate on it. If you bombed a section of the interview, maybe you can save yourself by discussing it here.
If you still don't hear back from them, then it's time to move on. Don't worry about that company. Concentrate on winning your next interview. Remember there will always be another one!
#2 Send out more cover letters and resumes:
Don't sit around and sulk. You may be tempted to do that. You want to get right back at it. Remember that finding a job is a job itself. If you bombed at work, you wouldn't sit around watching TV. You'd just work harder.
Start researching companies, and write up a good, persuasive cover letter and resume that will land you more interviews. Send these out strategically. Don't just blanket the city with the same resume.
Where can you apply?
Here's an idea straight from the door-to-door salesman of old. You might want to contact the person who interviewed you if you find out the position went to someone else, and ask them if they know anyone else who's hiring.
They probably have better contacts than you do. And just because you weren't right for them, doesn't mean you aren't right for someone else they know. You'd be surprised how many people will help you if you just ask them!
#3 Learn From Your Mistakes:
So don't sit around. Start researching companies, and send out more cover letters and resumes. Get your name out there in a constructive way.
But, before you go on your next interview, analyze what went wrong and what went right with this one. That way you won't make the same mistake twice.
There is an old saying: Those who don't learn from the past are condemned to repeat it. Don't let this be you. If you made a mistake, then own up to it and learn from it.
